ELECTRONIC ARTS PARKING STRUCTURE, REDWOOD CITY, CA
This 880-car, 4-story long span parking structure for Electronic Arts, the world’s leading entertainment software developer, was part of the first phase of the 45-acre campus, which also includes 8- and 6-story office buildings and a 2-story commons building. To build the parking structure quickly and economically, we offered several innovative approaches. We moved the shear walls to the perimeter, which allowed them to provide structural shear and replace the equivalent area of precast concrete, and paved the first level of the parking structure in asphalt rather than structural concrete.
This efficient design optimized the stall count, met the rigid Redwood Shores design guidelines, and was extremely cost-effective.The remaining skin utilized a Webcor design build architectural precast site cast panel system used on the Oracle World Headquarters’ four parking structures. Our experienced concrete crews manufactured and installed the panels, resulting in a significant savings.
