HARBOR LOFTS, SAN FRANCISCO, CA

Harbor Lofts is a seismic upgrade and rehabilitation project converting Hathaway Warehouse, a shipping and distribution facility in the center of San Francisco's vibrant waterfront, into 46 residential units. The original warehouse is a two story brick and timbered structure that was constructed in 1857 and is one of the six oldest buildings in San Francisco. For the remodel, all of the existing brick and timber were left exposed and were sandblasted to restore their original appearance. A courtyard was carved out of the center of the original warehouse and serves as the entry area for the homes. The units feature high volume ceilings, contemporary kitchens and baths, and full height lofts.
