The new Satellite Earth Terminal Station Facility will include a Satellite Communications Operations Center, a Command/Administration Support Center, a Repair and Utilities Building and a Covered Storage Shed. The project was awarded to a joint venture between Watts Constructors and Webcor Builders.

The new facility will expand and improve existing facilities at the California Army National Guard training post for the U.S. Army’s Network Enterprise Technologies Command. The project will feature a technical control center, network operations center, satellite repair facility, secure conference/training areas, operations and systems maintenance support areas, technical library, break area, storage, loading docks and antenna operating sites.

The scope of work also includes fire protection/detection systems, connections to the on-site power generation system and the energy monitoring and control system, and installation of an intrusion detection system. Associated sitework includes utilities, paved parking, sidewalks, curb, gutters, storm drainage, landscaping, exterior lighting, access roads, retaining walls and site development.

Construction on the project is scheduled to start in the fall, with completion expected by fall 2013.
