The Omni is a 17-story, 362-room, historic luxury hotel in the heart of San Francisco’s Financial District. Originally built as a bank in 1926, the building has a lobby adorned with Italian marble, rich fabrics and crystal chandeliers. Amenities include 12,000 sq ft of meeting space, a large ballroom, and a fitness center.Webcor performed a selective demolition, structural retrofit and extensive restoration to convert the 74-year-old office building into a modern, four-star hotel. The project required the expansion of the building’s footprint within the confines of a dense urban setting, the insertion of two additional floors within the existing structure, and the conversion of the marble exterior back to its original stone facade.

The interior renovation included traditional hotel-style décor such as Rojo Coralito marble floors, extensive mahogany wood paneling, and detailed ornamental iron railings. By self-performing the concrete work, the project was completed within a week of the original schedule despite significant obstacles discovered during demolition and excavation.
