Winner of the Concrete Masonry Association Design Grand Award, this parking structure for the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art has a combined moment frame and concrete masonry shear wall structure. The project site posed a number of challenges including its extremely tight location between two alleys and two high-rise buildings. Through careful staging of materials delivery and good communication with the project’s neighbors, Webcor was able to maintain an aggressive schedule. Webcor self-performed the structural and architectural concrete and completed the entire project in 9 months.

Solid grouted CMU shear walls provide the required 4-hour fire resistant separation at the lot lines. Street-level windows are used to showcase the museum’s current exhibits and the structure’s roof features a sculpture garden.
