The Californian on Wilshire is a 23-story, 74-unit luxury condominium tower with a 245-car, subterranean garage. This uniquely high-end project is distinguished by amenities such as marble exterior cladding, floor-to-ceiling windows, private elevators, a health club with lap pool, conference and media rooms, a catering kitchen, wine storage, library, and valet parking services.

Webcor used a down-turned beam interior moment frame system with exceptionally high-strength concrete to meet L.A.’s stringent earthquake codes. The use of 12,000-psi columns was a first in Los Angeles and resulted in a seismic capacity 33% greater than any other building on the Wilshire Corridor.

The 7,913-cubic-yard concrete mat foundation was poured in two days, requiring precise coordination to manage 792 truckloads of concrete on a highly-congested main traffic artery. Webcor used four pumps simultaneously to overcome the time constraint.
