Foundry Square II & IV are the first two of four planned office buildings that, when complete, will consist of 1.5 million sq ft and occupy the four corners of 1st and Howard streets. The completion of Foundry Square II & IV set a new standard for state-of-the-art office buildings in San Francisco.
Foundry Square II & IV feature floor-to-floor heights of 14’, increased natural lighting, and raised floor distribution systems which contain the mechanical, electrical and data delivery systems in the sub floor areas. Raised flooring provides convenient ‘plug & play’ flexibility for subsequent system upgrades and can reduce heating and cooling costs by as much as 15%.
The efficient raised floor delivery system is enhanced through the use of an exposed concrete structural frame. By utilizing a 30’ x 30’ grid and flat plate slabs on this moment frame structure, Webcor was able to use a modular high speed forming system which provided an optimized construction sequence and an early completion date.
Aesthetically, the buildings feature distinctive standing seam metal roofs and unique glass curtain wall systems.
