The Highland Reservoir is a 2.7 million gallon, partially-subterranean, pre-stressed concrete water tank. This project for the East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD) will help increase water supply and stabilize service pressure in the southwestern portion of the Colorados Pressure Zone which includes Lafayette.
40 feet in height, the structure is located in a residential area and nearly occupies the entire site. Due to the tight nature of the project site, Webcor used a mobile crane on a slab inside the tank, which had to be removed by a larger mobile crane once the 40-foot walls were complete.
The new tank will be connected to the Lafayette Water Treatment Plant.
