Metropolis, owned by developer Greenland USA, will be a state-of-the-art, mixed-use project featuring two phases located on more than six acres east of the 110 Freeway (8th St. and Francisco Avenue) in downtown Los Angeles, CA.Webcor will be providing services as the General Contractor for Phase I and Phase IIA.
Phase I of the project will feature a 20-story hotel, including four levels of podium, a five-story hotel tower parking structure, and a 38-story residential tower. The hotel will include 350 rooms, while the residences will provide 309 units. All Phase I structures will be located over two subterranean parking levels extending the length of the property. Metropolis Phase I is seeking LEED Silver certification.
Phase II of the Metropolis project consists of a 42-story high-rise, an 18-story mid-rise, and nine levels of podium/parking garage. Both the high-rise and mid-rise include a total of 514 luxury condominiums. Amenities can be found on level nine of the podium, adjacent to the high-rise. Amenities, available only to residents of the second and third towers, will include a large landscaped deck featuring a swimming pool, fire features, a field for sports like volleyball and yoga, a dog park and a play space for children.
Webcor’s scope of the project is projected to be complete in late 2017.
