Virtual Building/IPD
Known for its enthusiastic use of technology and its partnerships with world-class academic and industry organizations, Webcor consistently pushes the boundaries of performance, quality and value.
As a leader in Building Information Modeling (BIM), Integrated Project Delivery and enterprise-wide data communications, we offer cutting-edge methods and technologies that deliver significant value and benefits to our clients.
We identify the best emerging technologies and help develop them into new tools that advance the science of building.
Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Virtual Design and Construction (VDC)
Webcor is the recognized industry leader in the development and use of virtual modeling. Virtual models built from smart objects provide rapid cost and constructability feedback, identify potential problems before they occur, generate faster and more reliable schedules, and increase the accuracy of building layout.
Integrated Project Delivery (IPD)
Integrated Project Delivery, enabled by BIM, has become a subject of interest for many industry organizations, and Webcor is at the forefront. We were co-authors of the AIA’s first definitive documents on the subject, and we continue to aid the AIA in the development of its new standardized IPD contracts.
The Webcor Challenge Scholarship Program
New and emerging technologies can only benefit the industry if our professionals are trained to use them. Webcor has made a commitment to top Engineering, Computer Science and Construction Management schools to help develop their BIM/VDC curriculum and provide scholarships for promising students.
Research and Development
We believe that to get the most from emerging technologies, the industry must share knowledge and provide coherent direction to technology providers. Webcor actively participates in several research and professional organizations including Stanford University’s Center for Integrated Facilities Engineering (CIFE), UC Berkeley’s Center for the Built Environment (CBE), the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the National Institute of Building Sciences (NIBS).
