Originally built as a Class-A office building, 1100 Wilshire is now a 38-story, residential high-rise with 228 luxury condominium units and 16 levels of covered parking. Building amenities include a club level with a swimming pool, spa, sky deck, private cabanas, a fitness club, and business and media centers.
Working extensively with the architect, engineer and owner during preconstruction, Webcor helped craft an economically viable plan to convert the 18-year-old, steel-framed office tower into high-end residential units. The project required significant core building upgrades, extensive residential build-out, and proactive coordination with all project stakeholders.
Webcor removed 4 mid-rise elevators to increase the residential unit space, renovated existing elevators, built new lobbies, and made upgrades to the life safety, stair pressurization, smoke control, and building automation systems. The team also gutted and extended the existing swimming pool by 15 feet, requiring significant structural work.
