The Electronic Arts Campus is a 45-acre high-tech office park operated by the world’s leading independent developer and publisher of interactive entertainment software. Phase II of the campus consists of a 4-story, 316,000 sq ft office building, a 500-seat, 9,500 sq ft auditorium split over 2-levels and a 4-story, 232,500 sq ft parking structure with 764 stalls. The auditorium features an operable partition with the ability to divide the space into 4 separate meeting rooms. The project scope also included a full interior build-out and 280,000 sq ft of related site work.
This project required the Webcor team to form and place structural shear and core walls with a special board finish and white concrete. To achieve the high aesthetic finish required by the client, we utilized our own quality control inspectors to ensure that the forms were in good shape, the rebar was placed correctly, and that pouring operations were properly executed.
Electronic Arts Phase II received special design and construction attention for enhanced sustainability. As part of the design team, Webcor studied Electronic Arts’ actual power usage to make the mechanical and electrical systems as efficient as possible, while still allowing for future capacity. The final design included mixed-sized equipment to better respond to the building’s load profile and reduce energy usage significantly below Title-24 and ASHRAE-90.1 requirements. - Controllability of systems (thermal comfort)
- Refrigerant management
