UC Merced 2020 Expansion located in Merced, CA is a ground-up, Type II – V concrete and steel mixed-use project. The square footage is distributed throughout 14 structures to support a population of 10,000 students by the year 2020.

The academic space program includes 373,400 square feet of lab/research space, instructional space, and academic office space, while the Student Life program, which totals 115,500 square feet, includes health facilities, early childhood education, enrollment, dining and recreational facilities. In addition to academic and Student Life programs, the project includes 420,570 square feet of outdoor space, featuring several athletic fields.

The student housing program addresses existing and future demand for on-campus housing and includes 289,600 square feet and 1,700 beds, as well as 1,571 stand-alone parking stalls.

Recreation Facilities included: 3 Tennis Courts; 4 Basketball Courts; 2 Recreation Fields; NCAA Competition Field; NCAA Competition Pool (Olympic-size); 28,000sf Athletics, Aquatics and Wellness Building; 50m Competition Pool to NCAA standards; Competition Field to NCAA standards

Structures included: 2 Wet Labs; Computer Lab; Dining facility; 4 housing/classroom bldgs. (1700 Beds); Loading Dock Facility (4 Bays); Administration Building; Wellness Center; Pool/Pump & Filtration Bldg.; Conference Center; Transit Hub w/ 2 Transit Shelters; HazMat Building; Research Server Building/Complex; Greenhouse; 80,000 cy of Concrete; 16 million tons of Rebar
